Congregational Care, Communnity Relations and Hospitality have been combined into one team to be called Congregational Care and Outreach.

The Congregational Care section of this ministry team provides support for those individuals and families at our church in times of need. Support services provided include a prayer email chain, shepherd groups, phone calls, birthday and cheer cards, visits to the homebound, rides to medical appointments, meals, etc.  This team is also responsible for encouraging visitors and for welcoming new members into the church.

Community  Relations, now called Outreach, is the liaison between First Presbyterian Church and the community. The team is responsible for publicizing the mission of the Church through various media, publishing articles in the local newspapes about church events, helping provide snacks for the staff at the Community Care Clinc, and maintaining the Church web site.

Providing hospitality is an important task at the Church. This function has been folded into the newly-titled Congregational Care and Outreach Team. A volunteer member of the congregation has assumed day-to-day coordination of hospitality responsibilities. She, the elders and other planners will schedule special fellowship events for the congregation and visitors.

For example, on the first Sunday of every month, unless a change is announced ahead of time, a First Sunday lunch is held in Tartan Hall following the 10 AM worship service. Congregants are invited to these lunches, which might be covered dish meals or they may be prepared by a ministry team in observance of a special event. These lunches are always delicious and offer participants the change to enjoy great food and fellowship with each other.  A donation of $7.00 per diner is requested to help defray costs.
