Presbyterian Women's News

 Pat Mesta,  Moderator

For more than 200 years, Presbyterian women have played a vital role in the mission and ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA). That continues today at the Church, Presbytery, Synod, and Church wide levels through Presbyterian Women. Many Presbyterian Women in Western North Carolina are involved in circles, conduct Bible studies, are active in their communities, and contribute in ways large and small which impact the world. Presbyterian Women truly endeavor to live out the Presbyterian Women Purpose, which follows.

Presbyterian Women Purpose
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and
Empowered by the Holy Sprit, we commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace,
To build an inclusive, caring community of women
That strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.),
And witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

Any women interested in joining one of the
Circles are welcome.  Please check out all of the
and then decide which one you would like to join.

We had a wonderful Christmas party at Barbara and Jim McInnes’. A very special thank you to them and Fay Parker for preparing such yummy food and sharing their home with all of us!

Our Christmas project for students at Union Academy was a huge success. We collected $345 which went to purchase 3 junior tee shirts, 3 junior jeans, 2 pairs of teen shoes, 4 earrings, 4 brushes, 3 men’s jeans, 3 men’s coats, 2 hoodies/windbreakers, 7 packs of socks, 2 sets of long underwear, 4 pairs of gloves, and a $50 propane gas credit. Way to go, ladies!

Looking forward to seeing you in the new year! Pat
