Presbyterian Women's News

Pat Mesta,  Moderator

For more than 200 years, Presbyterian women have played a vital role in the mission and ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA). That continues today at the Church, Presbytery, Synod, and Church wide levels through Presbyterian Women. Many Presbyterian Women in Western North Carolina are involved in circles, conduct Bible studies, are active in their communities, and contribute in ways large and small which impact the world. Presbyterian Women truly endeavor to live out the Presbyterian Women Purpose, which follows.

Presbyterian Women Purpose
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and
Empowered by the Holy Sprit, we commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace,
To build an inclusive, caring community of women
That strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.),
And witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

Any women interested in joining one of the
Circles are welcome.  Please check out all of the
and then decide which one you would like to join.

Presbyterian Women Annual Birthday Luncheon
Sunday, March 11, 2018
after Worship Service in Tartan Hall

This year the Presbyterian Women invite the entire FPC congregation to join them for the second Sunday Luncheon as they recognize their Annual Birthday Offering. Since 1922, the Birthday Offering has provided and continues to provide much-needed financial assistance to numerous worthwhile programs not included in ongoing General Assembly mission support. Each year, as many as five new projects-domestic and international-are carefully and prayerfully selected by the Creative Ministries Offering Committee to help meet a crucial need for persons who are hurting or are disadvantaged. The generosity of Presbyterian women and their families and congregations, as demonstrated through their Birthday Offering gifts, helps chosen recipients find real solutions for projects related to health, education, economic development and the needs of women and children.
